Orange Crispy Rice Cereal Treats

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Sunkist® Navel orange juice
  • .5 teaspoon Sunkist® Navel orange zest
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows
  • .5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Optional: Candied Sunkist® Navel orange peel, icing, sprinkles, chocolate candies

Preparation: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 2 hours

Directions

  1. Zest the peel of one Sunkist orange and juice the orange.
  2. In a large saucepan melt butter over low heat.
  3. Add in Sunkist orange juice, zest, vanilla extract, and marshmallows. Stir until marshmallows are melted.
  4. Add crispy rice cereal. Stir until cereal is coated.
  5. Cover 9x13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  6. Add cereal mixture into the pan and spread evenly. Press down on the top of the bars with a sheet of parchment paper to make them flat.
  7. Let cool for two hours.
  8. Once the mixture cools holiday cookie cutters can be used to create festive shapes.
  9. For a finishing seasonal touch, decorate with candy, icing, sprinkles, or candied orange peels.
